Quick, Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet?

Help!  My birthday is seriously around the corner and I've been eyeing on a Nook Tablet (the associates in my local Barnes & Noble must feel sorry ~maybe annoyed~ for me for bugging them so much) but then I see a bunch of Kindle bargain books that many of you bloggers feature and wonder if Kindle's the way to go?  Any thoughts or experience on either of these e-readers?  I'd sure appreciate it.

My wants:
  • Ease of use
  • Excellent help resource
  • Great book deals
  • Capable of downloading pdf books I already have in my computer
  • Be able to browse the Internet
  • Extra features

Side note:  I just saw advertised, the Nook Tablet on sale at Target for $199 and you get $10 Target gift card for purchasing it.  Oh, Kindle Fire is also $199 but no gift card.

THANK YOU!!  (:

  1. Hey Jinky, I have a Kindle Fire and love it! With the free books and the fact that I can borrow books from my public library to read on it I am in book reader heaven.

  2. I say Kindle coz it has more books available and more free books and Nook is not as well-known as Kindle in my opinion..

Ooh!! I just saw you are a member of Filipino Book Bloggers. I'm curious :)

  3. I also say that Kindle, because I'm the owner of one and I have only praise words about it. It's great that there are sites like All you can books, where we can download so many interesting titles for free and have them with just one click. So, I think you'll not regret your choice... all of them are great devices. :)

  4. I have a Nook Tablet. Love it. The android marketplace is not the same as Google marketplace, but it still has enough stuff to keep me happy. I love the ability to add extra memory. Barnes and Noble also has weekly classes (free) to introduce you to the Nook and have all your questions answered by a Nook expert.

My sister has a Kindle Fire and she loves her Fire. She has easier access to movies (from Amazon Markets) and more free books. She has less overall memory but the ability to store her books in the 'amazon cloud'.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

  6. I have A Nook & I LOVE it. From what you listed that you want it for the only thing I'm not sure that you can do on both is downloading your pdf books. I have the Kindle app on my laptop so I can get the free kindle books there but I would like a fire so I can take them with me easier. Good luck & Happy Birthday. ;-)

  7. I can't really help here because I have neither a Kindle Fire nor a Nook tablet. But I do have just a normal Kindle and I love it :-)

  8. I have a kindle & a nook and prefer my kindle. If you use NetGalley Kindle is the way to go. It sends the books right to your kindle. With the Nook you have to hook it up to your computer to get them.
