A to Z Challenge Reflections

It was fun, but I'm glad it's over! :)

My theme was characters in (people from) the scriptures.

I am so proud to display this A to Z April Challenge 2012 Survivor banner!  Whew, that truly was a challenge!  But wow, I needed it.  Through the challenge, I experienced a renewed affection for the scriptures, namely for the Old Testament.  In these books, I got to know some awesome people and their special stories.  I learned more than I was able to put to words in the posts.  Now when people talk about certain things in the Holy Bible, I feel confident that I can contribute to the conversation.  That's a big self esteem booster!

I joined the A to Z Challenge late in the game so I did not have prepared posts or outlines.  I pretty much started each day opening to my scripture or student manual index, chose a person, and went from there!  I tried to study for the letter of the day the day before, but when some days got so busy I studied the day of ..and towards the end, time got even tighter and posted in the evenings!  Yeap, I flew this thing by the seat of my pants!  Definitely.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to hop around other's A to Zs that much.  Even though I put my book reading and blogging on hold for that month, I still had a lot on my plate (still had children to tend to and such) that just didn't give me enough time to browse.  But the nibble of browsing I was able to do, I was amazed!  So wonderful writers and interesting topics.  Truly incredible stories and super people out here in the blogosphere.  I plan to go back to the challenge link and visit here and there during the remainder of the year.

Thank you A to Z Challenge 2012 Team!  One of my big weaknesses was daily study and reading of the scriptures and so your invitation to this project was a great tool to strengthen that weakness.  I accepted the call and for the entire month of April I put my nose to the scriptures and I found my self studying and getting stronger!

This challenge was hard work, time consuming, and stressful but fruitful in joys as well.  It was a marvelous experience.  A wonderful gift.

See you again next year!! :)
